Adam’s Peak or Sripada

There is a foot-shaped indentation at the summit and Buddhists believe that it is the footprint of Buddha, commemorating Buddha’s visit to Sri Lanka in 6C BC. The region around the mountain is a wildlife reserve, housing many species varying from Elephants to Leopards.

Knuckle’s Mountain Range

Is an unusual landform located in the Central Province. The name was given during the British period and the locals call it “Dumbara Kanduwetiya” which means misty mountains. The colonial name has been derived because of its uncanny resemblance to the fingers of a clenched fist and is a popular place for trekking.
