Laxapana Falls
Having the highest waterfall density in the world with a recorded 382 spread throughout of the country, Sri Lanka is the place to see all kinds of waterfalls. They are mostly located in the Central Hills, unknown waterfalls are still being officially discovered to this day. Most of the waterfalls are very difficult to find because of the dense forests and are sometimes totally inaccessible.
Bambarakanda Waterfall
The tallest waterfall yet in Sri Lanka which boasts a height of 263 meters. Located in a dense forest in Kalupahana, near to Bandarawela, which is very difficult to get to but still is a journey well worth it.
Diyaluma Waterfall
With its impressive height of 220m, Diyaluma is the second highest waterfall in Sri Lanka and is often mistaken to be the highest. Diyaluma means “rapid flow of water” in the local language.
St.Clair’s Waterfall
The name is evidence of the British influence in Sri Lanka, St.Clair’s is regarded as the widest waterfall in the Island, so some call it “little Niagara of Sri Lanka”.
